The steel cross landmark on the Mont-Royal mountain

I love the perspective of this shot; the subject is very interesting too; where is this cross? Is it some sort of temple? Does it symbolize something? I love how you have included tree branches in your shot...

The 102-foot-high steel cross at the top of Mont-Royal (in the heart of downtown Montreal) has been a city landmark since it was erected in 1924, largely with money raised through the efforts of 85,000 high-school students. At that time the Christian religion was very strong here. In 1993, the 249 bulbs used to light the cross were replaced with an ultramodern fiber-optic system. A city law prevents all buldings in Montreal to be higher than this cross, so it's still the highest peak in the area today.
